Yes, it was hard sometimes, but the save points get more frequent in the later chapters of the story, which made it less frustrating. My audio may be different than others, but the beep of the save stations was not intrusive. Rather, it was a great relief to hear that there was one nearby! There are some surprises, and even some humor. Fortunately, I could laugh out loud without the monster or a synthetic hearing me.Even some failures are (sort of) fun.
It has been a long time since I have felt exhilaration like I did when yanked from my hiding place because I wasn’t being quiet enough!I’m using a Macbook Pro 2015, and I did choose to run at less than max graphics resolution in order to keep it very responsive, since quick, precise action is sometimes needed. It still looked great and was fully enjoyable despite some frustrating stretches. It was hours of immersive fun and excitement.
I took a chance, paying a fairly high price for it, but it was worth every penny. DBE54, Problems with MojaveJust a word of warning this game doesn't function properly using MacOS Mojave. I've been playing this game for years just fine up until I upgraded to Mojave. Even though the app store says 'Works on this Mac'. If you're using OSX Yosemite through High Sierra then it'll work fine. The game hasn't been updated in 3 years and I don't think Feral Interactive is going to invest the time and money in such an old game unless the game becomes popular again.

I traditionally turn music off in games because it detracts from the experience for me, but the score in this one seems more atmospheric sounds and tension-creating accents than an actual score with themes, traditional melody, etc. I'm only one hour in and this is my first foray into the genre, so I'm making this decision now.The trouble in a game that is trying to scare me is whether the music is going to give too much away at crucial points and ruin the suspense, or serve as just another sudden jolt here and there hoping to catch you off guard and maybe inspire a sudden nerve shock, which is to some extent cheap.Anyway, what say you? Do you play with it on or off in this title? The sound in general in this game is implemented very well and part of that is the music. Originally posted by:Here's my question: would you watch a movie without music? This question made me look up what movies didn't have musical soundtracks, and it turns out there are quite a few, with some big names on the first couple Google articles: Dog Day Afternoon, No Country for Old Men, Cast Away, Day of the Jackal, Hitchcock's Birds.I suppose the answer is more about how the soundtrack is used and the context, etc.
And constant music can be obnoxious, so it has to be subdued in certain films. Kubrick would use music and then have monstrous stretches of pure dialog or ambient scene sound only.
I remember playing the original Quake, and the soundtrack on that often felt something like a refrigerator quietly humming away in the background, which was great.
