Intel Nuc Vs Hp Z2
New Here? Please keep in mind that we are here to help you build a computer, not to build it for you. Long post.Been a windows guy thus far, I'd like to have the MacOS for primarily Logic DAW and have windows as a dual boot option. After a lot of reading up I'd like to for the minimalistic look and wonder what options out of these would be the best in terms of performance and longevity.HP Z2 Mini G4 - i7 8700, 16GB, 500 SSD, P600 Quadro graphics integrated. $1150TB3 port is something i need for future options, like an EGPU. This is where i'm not sure about as Hp does have the following add on part for TB3, it doesn't explicitly state eGPU support?(HP TB3 Module - ).Mac Mini - i7 8700B, 8GB, 256 SSD + 16gb ram sticks- 1299+75 = $1374.Intel NUC Hades Canyon(NUC8i7HVK), 16Gb, 500GB SSD - $1125Thoughts so far. From my findings, Mac Mini 2018 runs too hot and afraid of the mileage on this.
Intel NUC is comparatively a mobile CPU, and mileage may vary. Cooling on HP Z2 seems relatively better than on mac mini. Price/USD seems is the worst on Mac mini. What would y'all suggest to go for? Hackintosh is something new to me, and i am concerned about its stability and updates. Are there better choices in this form factor that i've missed?Thank you guys.
